The recognition was earned because of the innovative work Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative has done to deploy fiber broadband through the rural communities it serves. This infrastructure has led to economic development, advances in telehealth, greater educational opportunities, improvements in agriculture and much more. No longer is living in a rural community a disadvantage.
